Moulding Processes

Austral Alloys employs only State of the Art Hard Sand (chemically resin bonded) or heat setting Resin Coated Sand using five moulding and core production methods.

Our main Moulding line for castings from 10 to

200 Kgs uses an 6 tonne/hour High Intensity

  Continuous Sand Mixer incorporating digitally

  controlled resin and hardner dosing.

Shell Core Machine using a heat setting resin

Coated sand in the production of Cores and

  Shell Moulds.

All Hard Sand Moulds and Cores are coated

with an alcohol based refractory wash. This

  reduces metal penetration and improves

surface finish of the final casting.
